King Kong Remake Analysis Essay

Movies have shown throughout our time that there is a strong underlying theme or message that can be unseen to most. It can be a minuscule significance to some, who focus on the violence and special effects, but once you start looking back at the big picture of certain films, there is so much more. A lot of people tend to focus on what is being filmed instead of how it’s being filmed. The difference is remarkable between the two films King Kong (1933) and the remake of King Kong produced in 2005. The perspective of how the story played out is very different between the two films. On one end, in the original, Kong is portrayed as a violent beast similar to a Godzilla type figure that is a huge threat to civilization. In the remake, it brings a deeper relationship to Kong to humanize his character. The audience can feel his emotions and reactions in a much bigger way to show he might be a powerful beast, but has a big heart too. The difference of how scenes are depicted by each director seems to be complete opposite visions of how the story plays out in each film. It’s interesting to see overtime how the outlook on how man deals with nature has dramatically shifted. Both films underlying messages can be very unnoticed with all the action, adventuring, and amazing special effects going on in the film. This ultimately makes it harder to pick out how power obsessed America was in the original, and how destructive we really are with nature today. It’s very apparent that both movies follow the same story line and plot, but how it is seen through the director’s eyes is very different. In both movies, the humans seem to be very destructive and disrespectful to nature. This is seen a lot more in the remake. Throughout original King Kong you never get that close to Kong to see how he feels and why he feels certain ways. A lot of the scenes with him in it displays very destructive behavior of him killing and tearing things apart. It sets him up as a monstrous figure similar to Godzilla, whereas the other movie personifies Kong as more of a humanized beast that is just looking for love and understanding. The newer film shows this by longer drawn out scenes between Ann and Kong that are almost intimate. Even though Kong cannot talk, the audience can tell how he’s thinking by facial expressions, along with his grunts and roars. It’s understandable the older film wasn’t able to show these certain sides of Kong due to technology and outdated special effects, but they still repeatedly display Kong’s actions and intentions strictly out of violence. In the original Kong, he is captured and put on display in New York City; he breaks out and is immediately enraged by the situation. He begins to run around the city damaging buildings, killing innocent civilians, and causing complete chaos. This again shows how Kong is a problem with society and a huge threat to anyone near him. Putting his image as this out of control beast brings the element that we have to conquer nature to express our true power with weapons and technology. This scene dramatically differs in the new film. Once Kong breaks free of captivity while being put on display on the stage, his focus is not on destroying and causing harm. His motivation is fully on being reunited with his love Ann. When he finally gets back together with her, they show just the two of them playing together in the snow at central park. They are laughing and enjoying themselves in a peaceful setting, showing that Kong means no harm at all. Until all of the sudden police and military forces interrupt the two with bombings, which puts a sense of how we are the evil force in the movie. Putting Kong on display like he was shows how we really do not respect nature. Its seen so much today that we start to treat animals as objects or material things to be used for our pleasure. Whether animals are used for food, or put in an exhibit at a zoo, it’s very apparent the respect for them is fading. A lot can argue that we need these things to survive or for our entertainment but we definitely go overboard. Our country does not think twice to slaughter millions of animals each day just for our benefit. It also wouldn’t be uncommon to see an animal’s head put up on display on a wall similar to a trophy or family picture. This develops a huge consequence because we don’t ever stop to think from the animal’s point of view. It seems to result in a lot of selfish acts by humans who don’t think twice about treating animals this way, which ultimately destroys their true worth of living beings. In the remake of King Kong, Kong is seen as a protector to Ann. He does not let anyone else harm her and never takes his eye off of her. No matter what the situation seems to be, his full focus is on Ann. In the original she doesn’t seem to be his top priority, and seems like he’s more about showing off how strong and powerful he can really be throughout the film. It’s very apparent in the scene where Kong battles two Tyrannosaurus Rex in the jungle on Skull Island. In the original, Ann is sitting off to the side watching from a distance very frightened. Kong continues to battle and barely acknowledges Ann and seems to worry more about his own well-being. There was even a point where she is pinned under a tree during the battle, and Kong doesn’t seem to notice her presence or screams until he’s finished with his fight. It is completely different in the new film. During the whole scene while fighting the Tyrannosaurus Rex, Kong has Ann wrapped up in his hand, and never lets go. He keeps her close to him at all times and makes sure she doesn’t get harmed. It really shows how Kong means well and looks out for her, almost as her guardian as they go around Skull Island. By doing this, the film really shows how Kong ultimately has good intentions with Ann. Seeing how he will defend Ann by any cost, shows that she has a place in Kong’s heart and he really does mean well. Even though Kong shows his loyalty out of violent acts, it’s still very obvious he does this strictly to protect the ones he cares about, bringing the viewers on Kong’s side. It shows how she is a true priority to Kong and his intentions are for the best, making him a more respectable character that doesn’t deserved to be captured. Building Kong’s character up as a protector and intelligent beast really puts the spotlight on us that we are the destructive force. This seems problematic today with all of the poaching and extinctions of our beloved animals, which we are the main contributors to. There are many cases where laws have been established because of people killing animals for clothing or cosmetic purposes. It shows we don’t believe these animals’ lives are worth much. It’s almost every day where you can see a commercial about donating money to help save or adopt some type of animal in need. When in reality, we probably wouldn’t need to do that if we made sacrifices ourselves to help protect our animals and environment. The last scene where Kong is shot down climbing the Empire State building makes arguably the biggest impression on how destructive we really can be to nature. As seen in the original, Kong is a huge problem in society and an untamable beast. This is a big reason why when the military and police forces are called in, they are portrayed as the hero type image saving the day. It shows it in a big way that we won’t be conquered by something like this, and humans can over power nature at the end of the day. However in the remake, it seems to be the complete opposite. Throughout the film the audience grows closer to Kong, and the last thing that is wanted is for him to be harmed. He has shown that he is loyal to Ann and just wants to be loved. That’s why when the airplanes are called in to destroy Kong; it’s almost hard to watch. It’s apparent that Kong did not want to be captured, and we now have to use violent force against him just because us humans can’t respect nature. It really shows how hypocritical we are and selfish the society can be. When captured he was praised and displayed as â€Å"The Eighth Wonder of the World†, but after breaking free, he needs to be killed. Humans never really look back and see how he might be feeling about ripping him out of his home, thinking he is just some type of ignorant animal that is to be put on display for everyone to look at. It definitely symbolizes how power hungry our country is. We are always trying to fix other countries problems and colonize the world when we have enough issues of our own to work out. In the end the military forces and planes bring Kong to his death, which presents another problem of how we use our technology available to take control and overpower situations. A lot of people view Kong as a problem and a threat to society because you see how violent and powerful he can really be. This is true, but that’s the exact reason we do not need to be capturing and taking Kong out of his environment. If we would have just let him be in peace in his own environment where he belonged, there would be no reason for having to kill him, But America’s greed for fame and money overpowers that in this film. It really goes to show how we are the destructive ones that have no respect for nature and it’s ultimately our fault this happened. It’s very vital to the viewers watching to see the significant themes shown throughout the films. It’s surprising how the same story can be displayed but with completely different underlying messages. The newer and drawn out film really enables the audience on how Kong is feeling throughout the film. It makes a huge impact on how you view everything else. Protecting and conserving nature seems to be the least of our priorities and degrades the worth of animal’s lives. Many viewers always look at it as â€Å"Beauty killed the Beast†, when really I believe we killed the beast with our destructive and selfish plans regarding nature’s finest things.

Effects of Quantitative Easing on Food Prices Research Paper

Effects of Quantitative Easing on Food Prices - Research Paper Example Eventually, this leads to inflation. This paper demonstrates the effects that come about because of employing quantitative easing on food prices. Rise in food prices One of the established effects of quantitative easing is that it results to a rise in food prices. The reason behind this fact is that quantitative easing entails making of more money in order to assist in solving the situation affecting the economy. However, making of more money contributes in undervaluing the present ones in the economy of a country. Therefore, the country tends to experience hyperinflation. The inflation results to a rise in various commodities. Some of these commodities include raw materials associated with the production of food. Rise in raw materials especially in the agricultural sector forces most of the producers to increase the selling price of their products. Eventually the final consumer ends-up buying food at a higher price than usual. In every financial year, food producers tend to look on when they can be able to make more profits from the price of their commodities. Therefore, the producers are forced to increase their prices with an aim of avoiding incurring losses when inflation occurs especially because of quantitative easing (Duncan 162). ... Most of the small-scale farmers stops farming because of rising prices of various agricultural commodities ending up reducing their production. When most of the small-scale farmers fail to produce more goods as expected, the price of food in the market rises. In some cases, most of the small-scale farmers’ stops enacting agricultural related activities because of farming difficulties due to rise in prices of commodities. This creates a high deficit on the farm products hence a rise in food prices. Rise in international prices of raw materials and agricultural products Apart from the small-scale farmers being affected by inflation because of quantitative easing, large-scale farmers also tend to experience the same effects. Apart from the above outlined examples, showing effects of inflation due to quantitative easing, inflation also causes a rise in the import price index. This means that various raw materials related to agriculture like farming inputs that include fertilizers tend to rise in their prices. Some of other imported agricultural inputs that tend to rise in their prices because of inflation include farming machines and chemicals. Moreover, some of the seeds imported from other countries rise in their costs due to inflation. Failure of farmers to access the inputs contributes to low production of food hence rise in their prices. High cost of inputs makes most of the farmers fail to buy much of the products contributing to a decline in their activities. A decline in farming activities means that the production of law materials will eventually be low. This contributes in making the prices of the produced food rise. Rise in cost of activities in food manufacturing industries There is established evidence that inflation cause

Quality Management Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words

Quality Management - Essay Example But it so happens that sometimes what the staff's thinks as quality care does not always agree the patient's satisfaction. PDSA (Plan, Do, Study, Act) cycle is also known as PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act) cycle, which also called the Deeming wheel, or cycle. The Deeming wheel is used by organizations that are continuously engaged in continuous improvement to train their employees or staff in problem solving matters. Continuous improvement is a process that seeks ways to improve the operations of an organization. When implementing a continuous improvement concept in a hospital or a health care centre the management of that institution must follow some procedures. 1) Train the staff of the hospital or health care centre in the methods of improving quality and their performance when dealing with patients. 2) The staff should make statistical process control method a daily part of their operations and tasks. 3) The management should make work teams and involve the staff. And introduce problem solving in the work teams. Plan is the first step in the Deeming Wheel. Plan basically means that to make a strategy or plan ahead before a change and to predict the result and then analyze it. Therefore when planning the team basically selects a process for example an activity like when an emergency is bought in the ER the nurse monitors and checks the vital signs of the patient and prepares the patient for treatment. Therefore the improvement to take place the management has to make sure the nurses in the ER are trained for the any kind of emergencies and the ER is fully equipped and the staff is on alert because the patients need to be treated quickly ad efficiently. Do Do is the second step in the Deeming Wheel. Do basically mean that the team implements the plan and then it monitors the process. For example q patient is brought in the ER with a heart attack problem. The patient will receive immediately oxygen and will have an ECG as soon as possible. Therefore with the right kind of equipment and the staff well trained only then the patient's life will be saved. Check Check is the third step in the Deeming Wheel. Check basically means that the staff or the team basically analyses the data that was collected during the Do step to basically find out that the results match to the predicted result in the plan step. It the staff of the ER is well trained and the ER is fully equipped and when the patient does arrive with a problem and is quickly dealt with the right kind of treatment and it the result of this outcome matches with the prediction then the institution is right on track with the continuous improvement process. Act Act is the fourth step in Deeming Wheel. Act basically means if the results are successful then this process becomes a standard procedure in the Emergency Room to train the staff how to deal with the patients and to have the ER fully equipped with the right kind of machines and instruments. Innovation and Entrepreneurship - Case Synopses - KAPAI NEW ZEALAND Essay

Innovation and Entrepreneurship - Case Synopses - KAPAI NEW ZEALAND - Essay Example And the products should not be similar to those that are available in the other restaurants. The interior of the restaurants also was clearly describing that how much the founders are in touch with an eco-friendly environment. In case of the interiors also, James and Justin had a different opinion. And their prices were such that even a single item will not cost more than that of the present minimum wages. The menu choices were like DIY (Do It Yourself). That means the restaurant will provide the different items to the customer and they themselves have to mix the items and fill it to eat. Through this the customers can understand the items used in the salad and can also have a choice in the ingredients. A wide variety of foods are available such as soup, honey, hot cakes, juice etc. The staffs got a shift of 2 to 4 hours per day. So the university students were also working as staff on part time basis. The growth of Kapai is resulted from the local support; this is because they depen ded mostly on the local suppliers. The extraordinary performance leads them to a high profit and thus, James started drawing a salary as an office staff. Since, the demand for the fast food was very high and a number of competitors such as Mc Donald’s, Domino’s, and Pizza Hut already existed, Kapai had to boost up their business. The more usage of fast food led to an over-weighted society and people started behaving very health conscious. All the restaurants tried to balance the fast food and salad items. But the health parts were ignored. The main competitor is a salad store called Reload. The urge to open the franchise increased in their minds. But the competition was very stiff. So the decision was taken to reduce the overhead costs and other expenses. And they planned to start the franchise at their preferred location. Kapai always had the first mover advantage and they wanted the people to accept it as their own. ENTREPRENEURSHIP CHALLENGES Every entrepreneur had to face some sort of challenge during their business life. This is because risk is inherent in each business. From the very stage, where the idea was generated for the venture to be closed down the challenge had to be faced. The possible challenge is â€Å"Finance, management† (Richter Meyer, 2003) for the firm i.e., naming of the firm, staff selection etc. In this case, the challenge is more like when they were running the business rather than in the start-up stage. A number of players were existing in the fast food industry in New Zealand and all of them were having a number of outlets and they were very successful entrepreneurs such as KFC, Mc Donald’s, Domino’s Pizza, Pizza Hut etc. Even though there were a lot of competitors who existed, Kapai could succeed only because they have studied the eating habit of the people and accordingly started their business and earned relatively a good profit. The next thing is that about the location for the next two stores . Their prices for each food were lower than the minimum wage rate of the country and thus the revenue-expense part was a challenge. This is because they had to pay the rent for the building, employee’s salary, purchasing of vegetables etc. Moreover, they were mostly depended on the local suppliers and tried to serve bio-degradable packaged salads and the availability

Animal Captivity of Orcas Should Be Banned Essay

Animal Captivity of Orcas Should Be Banned - Essay Example The need to maximize profits and minimize costs means that the welfare of the animals is neglected (Clemmit, 2010). Unlike the use of animals for medical research, this practice is merely for the amusement of the public. It serves no greater good besides giving people momentary pleasure. The death of Dawn Brancheau in a deadly encounter with the orca responsible for two other deaths shows the consequences of vested economic interests. It would have been prudent to ensure that such an animal does not encounter another human being. The lives of trainers are endangered (Martinez, 2014). The documentary explores the death of Dawn Brancheau who was killed by a captive orca. The same orca had killed two other trainers. Although there are generally accepted occupational hazards, the death of three people by one animal is unacceptable. The animals are destabilized when they are away from their indigenous habitats making them violent. The practice has a negative effect on the mental health of the animals. The film suggests that Tilikum had been driven to madness by his captivity (Martinez, 2014). Captured animals live in a restrictive environment causing them to undergo pain, distress and in extreme cases death. Many marine biologists believe that orcas are designed to travel millions of miles in a single day. The restricted environment makes them irritated and a danger to people (Martinez, 2014). It is morally wrong to use animals for human amusement. The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has equated the practice to slavery (Martinez, 2014). It is morally wrong to inflict pain on one creature for the benefit of another. The animals have the ability to feel and should not be tortured (Clemmit, 2010). Modern science is increasingly showing that animals are more complex creatures than expected (Clemmit, 2010). A good example is chickens which do not even qualify for Animal

Nuclear generators Term Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

Nuclear generators - Term Paper Example According to the Nuclear Science Division of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory: â€Å"Fusion is a nuclear process in which two light nuclei combine to form a single heavier nucleus. An example of a fusion reaction important in thermonuclear weapons and in future nuclear reactors is the reaction between two different hydrogen isotopes to form an isotope of helium: Fission is a nuclear process in which a heavy nucleus splits into two smaller nuclei. An example of a fission reaction that was used in the first atomic bomb and is still used in nuclear reactors is: The products shown in the above equation are only one set of many possible product nuclei. Fission reactions can produce any combination of lighter nuclei so long as the number of protons and neutrons in the products sum up to those in the initial fissioning nucleus.† (LBNL, 2011) Because of the nature of the source materials involved in the fusion reaction, mainly Helium and Hydrogen, the danger of radioactivity is n on-existent compared to the fission processes involving Uranium and Plutonium, elements with long half-lives and radiation emissions. Fission reactions run on fuel rods of Uranium, yet the â€Å"spent† fuel rods which are no longer concentrated enough to maintain reactions at critical mass will have to be maintained and stored for thousands of years despite emitting radioactivity as part of the decay cycle. Because of this, nuclear fusion is still viewed as a possibility to provide unlimited, â€Å"clean† energy based on nuclear reactions similar to those occurring in the sun, while nuclear fission reactions based on Uranium and Plutonium fuel power plants across the world in practical application, but long term concerns exist about the safety of the radioactive waste materials over time as the elements continue to decay and emit harmful radiation into the environment. â€Å"Plutonium-239 is one of the two fissile materials used for the production of nuclear weapons a nd in some nuclear reactors as a source of energy. The other fissile material is uranium-235. Plutonium-239 is virtually nonexistent in nature. It is made by bombarding uranium-238 with neutrons in a nuclear reactor. Uranium-238 is present in quantity in most reactor fuel; hence plutonium-239 is continuously made in these reactors. Since plutonium-239 can itself be split by neutrons to release energy, plutonium-239 provides a portion of the energy generation in a nuclear reactor. Plutonium belongs to the class of elements called transuranic elements whose atomic number is higher than 92, the atomic number of uranium. Essentially all transuranic materials in existence are manmade. The atomic number of plutonium is 94. Plutonium has 15 isotopes with mass numbers ranging from 232 to 246. Isotopes of the same element have the same number of protons in their nuclei but differ by the number of neutrons. Since the chemical characteristics of an element are governed by the number of protons in the nucleus, which equals the number of electrons when the atom is electrically neutral (the usual elemental form at room temperature), all isotopes have nearly the same chemical characteristics. This means that in most cases it is very difficult to separate isotopes from each other by chemical techniques. Only two plutonium isotopes have commercial and military applications. Plutonium-238, which is made in nuclear reactors from neptunium-237, is used to make compact

Value and Risk Management in Construction Case Study

Value and Risk Management in Construction - Case Study Example Resulting damage of hazards and threats, which became risks, might be to the physical condition and security of employees, to place, gear or an whole installation, to the surroundings, to products, or to monetary assets (Waring, 2001). For those belongings of risks to commerce, this account suggests you ways to avoid/transfer; reduce/control or luxury them in case they occur to your business. The report finished upon the leadership of Mr. Dennis, Master of Marketing. If we analyze then we come to know that naturally, a decision to invest 5M in a capital project involves a mainly irreversible obligation of resources that is generally subject to an important degree of risk. Such verdicts have far-reaching effect on a company's productivity and elasticity over the long term, thus necessitate that they be part of a cautiously developed strategy that is based on dependable appraisal and forecasting actions. In order to handle these risk managerial decisions, TW has to make an evaluation of the size of the outflows and inflows of funds, the life span of the speculation, the degree of risk attached as well as the price of obtaining funds. Moreover, one of the mainly significant steps in the capital budgeting cycle is working out if the benefits of investing big capital sums overshadow the costs of these investments. The variety of methods that business TWs use can be classify in one of two ways: customary and inexpensive cash flow techniques. Traditional methods comprise the Average Rate of Return and Payback; discounted cash flow (DCF) methods using Net Present Value and Internal Rate of Return. Net Present Value (NPV) According to the expert analysis net present value is a way of comparing the value of money now by means of the value of money in the potential. A euro nowadays is value more than a euro in the future; since inflation erodes the buying power of the prospect money, as money offered nowadays can be invested and so grow. The technique is a three-stage process: "To compute the present value of each component of cash spending in a proposal and then, to add these person present values together to offer a total present worth of the expenditures; To likewise compute the present value of each component of cash income in a proposal and, then, to add these personage present values together to offer a total current value of the incomes; To subtract the total present value of expenditures from the whole current value of the incomes, in order to decide the net current value"; Tinic, S. M., and West, R. R. (1986) If this computation produces an NPV that is optimistic, the

Art Analysis # 4 Expressive - Essay Example This is a comic painting that is in contrast with the late Pollock or the tragic vision of the Rothko, it would miss a point if seen as being figurative. Nonetheless, it creates new areas of erotic everyday life to the abstract art. The painting is an abstract that does not exists; it is the woman that only exists on the mind of the painter (Mark and Annalyn 42). Moreover, the fabulation of brushwork and color, with the pushed, splattered, realized paint telling unequivocally that which is furiously sexual. Regardless of the fierce heterosexuality that exists in the painting of Woman I, the artists who have followed de Kooning into the new space between real world and abstraction dealt in the sexual ambiguity. Indeed, closer to the de Kooning’s cartoon painting are the Oldenburg’s fantasies of the mass produced consumables sexualized and inflated. Indeed, the exaggerations made on the woman including the giant lipstick are simply a portrayal of the emotional and romantic state of the painter’s mind (Mark and Annalyn 51). In a nutshell, the painting is an abstract that only portrays the emotional state of mind of the painter. It shows that woman the painter fantasizes off during the painting period. It is therefore not a real life painting but rather an

What makes Sophocles's Antigone a paradigm of the very idea of tragedy Essay

What makes Sophocles's Antigone a paradigm of the very idea of tragedy - Essay Example Firstly, we should understand that the notion of tragedy concerns only a human being. This concept cannot be devoted to the natural phenomena. It can face various kinds of devastating disasters, but their consequences are evaluated as a tragic only in relation to their emergence in peoples lives. Tragedy always involves some conflicts in human relationships. It characterizes the irresolvable question, which always ends with the loss of some significant life values for the participants of the conflict, or even the destruction of their personality. Every person is mortal. Moreover, any individual accepts it as a fact and does not consider it as a tragedy. Death is only one of the manifestations of life - the law of nature. Tragic conflicts arise when people fail in their truly human manifestations, asserting themselves as free and rational beings. The spiritual dimension of human life is the only arena in which the tragedy takes place. The works of Sophocles were based on the myths of ancient Greece. The play â€Å"Antigone† is often compared with the myth about Oedipus. The plot of the tragedy is not complicated. Its main character Antigone (the daughter of king Oedipus), despite the decree of Creon (the legitimate ruler of Thebes), performs funeral rites over the body of one of her fallen brothers Polynices, who led foreign troops to Thebes and betrayed the interests of his native city. As a result, Creon condemns Antigone to a painful punishment, commanding to immure her in one of the caves. Antigone refuses to accept such sentence and commits suicide. Antigones death entailed the suicide of her fiancà © Haemon (Creons son). His mother Eurydice could not stand the sorrow and dies as well. These misfortunes made Creon recognize his miserableness and humble before the gods. Sophocles developed the plot of the original myth, as it was necessary for the disclosure of the tragic actions. He did not paraphrase the

AirAsia falls in LCC a low-cost carrier (also renowned as a no-frills, discount or allowance carrier or airline) is an airline that boasts usually reduced fares in exchange for eradicating numerous customary traveler services. Analysis Of Customer Relationship Management Strategy AirAsia being in the low cost aircraft carrier model where they operate in budget airline services they have to formulate strategies to keep the existing customers for longer period of time and attract more new customers. One of their strategies is providing passengers with customization on what he/she prefers like meals or no meal, extra baggage and other customized services which bring in revenue for Airasia. Airasia utilizes social networks and mailing to reach customers and inform them about new destinations, promotions and other merchandise. Airasia has expanded its business from airlines to hotels and mobile services as they identify their customers demands and try provide it themselves. AirAsia has even started a frequent flyer program which provides free value added services to loyal customers who use AirAsia to travel frequently. Installation of customer answers response system from a European provider which answers to questions by customers instantly on the Airasia website. 2.1 Situation Analysis: We will now analyze the strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats which Airasia faces Strengths: Being the only budget airlines in the Asia region and flying to more than 100 destinations gives them advantage of being the only reliable low cost carrier. Customers who use the airline frequently to travel day to day remain loyal. Low operating cost results in cheap tickets and promotions which make other hard to compete with Airasia. Joint ventures with other carriers and aircraft in other countries help provide easy transit, affiliated flights and lounge privileges Weakness: Poor customer services support. Complains not answered and feedback not taken into consideration. Selling the service the only concern as per customers view on Airasia. Cancellation of flights, delays of flight and poor service from flight crew. Opportunities: Diversification of the business to other ventures. Gaining new customers by adding new hot spot destinations. Increase in fuel prices can have little effect on Airasia but due its low operating cost it still will remain the cheapest while other airlines will find it hard to keep up with the cost and operating expenditure. Threats: Airasia will certain airport policies when entering different airports which could increase cost of operating. Increase in fuel prices is still a concern. New entrants to the low cost airline industry which will compete with Airasia. 3.0 Segmentation and Customer Profile 3.1 Group Flyers and Discounts: AirAsia segment their travellers by giving discount to group traveller more than 9 passengers or other offers to specific groups e.g.: school trip, wedding, and etc. this helps them to exposure their business to new customers resulting high sales. AirAsia put group discounts in their online booking also which makes customers to purchase easily the ticket. Their main target markets mostly are internet based customers. 3.2 Foreign workers strategy: AirAsia goal most foreign employees from Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, China, Macau employed in Malaysia who may not pay for the costly air journey dwelling and offer them bargain fare which will appeal most of the clients in this market class as they wont yield much and will be in their dwelling very often. 3.3 AirAsia Go: AirAsia go is a package of booking hotel and flight both together for business and leisure travelling customers. They mainly focus on promotions on this in school holidays, public holidays and other celebrations eve. Which attracts the business man travelling can book hotel and flight in one place and with customer reviews. They have points also to redeem while booking in AirAsia go for frequent flyers. 3.4 AirAsia X: Airasia X is usually used in Long Haul flights with the fleet of A330. They segment their customers in 2 parts economy and premium flatbed. In economy they have hot seats which are like be the first to get board in the jet and get relax with extra legroom and second is standard seats which is comfy and made from leather. The business class is usually for leisure class which is of course higher in price but cheaper than the other airlines business class; they provide benefits like complimentary meal, pick a seat option, priority check in, flatbed seats and many more. Their usually target on frequent flyers for long haul. 4.0 Customer Relationship Issue faced by AirAsia The main issue which is having a negative impact on Airasia customer relationship management are service complains, delays and cancellation of flights. The first issue is customer feedbacks such as suggestions and complains are ignored; customers feel Airasia only wants to sell the ticket to them and dont care after that onwards. Complains have to look and corrected so that it does not happen again. New suggestions should be taken into consideration and appreciated. The other main issue is that passengers face delays frequently as they are left stranded in the airport for hours to board the aircraft and in worst cases flights are cancelled frequently by Airasia due to technical issues and other various reasons. Customers lose loyalty toward AirAsia due to the factors. Airasia needs to rectify these issues to maintain better understanding between customers and provide better satisfaction to the customers. The main objective is to make a CRM strategy to correct these issues. Strategies have to be planned and implemented in order to achieve the objective; from the situational analysis we have performed now we have to develop the strategy which will be discussed in the next part. Question 5 Airasia has multiple issues which they have to correct so multiple strategies will be required in order to rectify. The main weakness are complains are ignored, Delays and cancellations of flights. First main issue where a strategy is needed is to correct the delays and cancellations of flights. The reasons for the delays and cancellations could be natural reasons which cannot be avoided like bad weather, storm and etc. Technical faults, maintenance repairs and cancellation of flights due to insufficient number of passengers to travel can be corrected by a strategy. Airasia cancels flights because of insufficient passengers to travel for the certain time flight because it is not profitable. This can be avoided by reducing the number of flights to a certain destination in one particular day. Example Airasia travels 4 times a day to Singapore reducing it to 3 times a day if the particular destination has cancellation due to insufficient amount of passengers can solve. Airasia uses only type of aircraft the A320 but have more than 120 fleets of this type to reduce cost of having multiple types of aircraft making them also easy to repair and maintain only type of aircraft but still delays occur. A daily check of each aircraft can be carried out to avoid these issues The next issue is that complaint and feedback from customers are ignored; Air Asia needs a strategy to improve the customer relationship. The customer service department will have to be trained to handle customers with temperament and understanding. Complains, feedback, suggestion should not be ignored but welcomed as it can improve the customer service. Complains should go through a panel and should be addressed back to the customer negative or positive based on the rules, policies and guidelines of Airasia. Mistakes or inconvenience caused by Airasia should be compensated through free tickets, Upgrade to business class and lounge facilities. New suggestions and feedbacks should be considered if beneficial should be implemented. Question 6 The strategy of reduction in flight has to be evaluated based on the destination and the amount of flights. Most importantly the amount of cancellations of flights to each destination over a month has to be evaluated through and check which destinations have the highest number of cancellations due to insufficient passengers has be checked a frequency of flights to that particular destination should be reduced. The reduction in flights will lead to customers fearing that Airasia could terminate services to that particular destination and other assumptions such as profitability, political pressure and other rumours can affect the brand name. New contract and rescheduled flight time table has to be given to the destination airport and this process could turn costly as new fleet parking charges and rates will be given based on the Airport Example busy airport like Changi, Singapore can charge more for landing and parking of fleets. The Strategy of reduction in flight has a high rate of w orking to avoid cancellation The other strategy to avoid delays and cancellations is through daily maintenance checks and service; Airasia has a more than 120 fleets inspecting every aircraft daily is very costly and a long process. Airasia being a low cost carrier it has to be sensitive about cost as these inspections will lead to increase in prices. The inspections will still not stop delays as major faults and issues will take more long period to fix. Airasia can collaborate and negotiate with other airlines incase there is delays passengers can be switched to different Airline so their journey and plans will remain unaffected. The strategy of collaborating or forming alliance with other Airline services can avoid delays and jamming of schedules. The other strategy of retraining staff to better assist customers and their complains will have an effect on cost but most importantly a panel to decide on feedback, complains and suggestions is vital for use as complains will not be ignored replying or addressing them back is important even if the suggestions or complain are meaningless. Evaluating complains, suggestions have to be implemented if it brings satisfaction to majority if airasia customers and profitability is not affected due to the change implemented. Airasia has multiple ways to address the problems in the customer relation management but they can overcome the issues by some simple strategies to correct them and have the resources and power which provides more alternative method strategies to overcome the problem. Airasia has been hit by two main weaknesses which through evaluation on why, how this problems occur the root cause can be found. Correcting these issues not only improves the relationship between the customers but also adds customer value and satisfaction.

Whatever You Are Be A Good One English Literature Essay

Whatever You Are Be A Good One English Literature Essay A good narrator has the ability to distance himself from the rest of the audience and to be able to describe things in detail. While the narrator inThe Great Gatsby; Nick Caraway, refrains from going into detail about his personal thoughts, he does however, explain the book in great detail. At the beginning of the book, Nick describes what happens to Gatsby in a general synopsis which shows to the reader how literate Nick is. Nick, like many characters in The Great Gatsby battles between internal and external forces which shows the conflicts he goes through throughout the book. The battle between his morals and the unnatural people in the book is a major theme that occurs throughout. However, as a narrator inThe Great Gatsby, can Nick be considered a reliable narrator? Nick Caraway is a reliable and suitable narrator because of the amount of detail he goes into, his non-judgemental honest, and tolerant attitude which makes him a trustworthy character. And as the novel progresses, he faces inner and external battles with himself and those around him showing that he is rational and a natural character. In the first few pages alone, F Scott Fitzgerald was able to portray how literate Nick is and how he is a suitable narrator. The ability of Nick to describe the events that take place around him in an unrushed, logical manner shows that Nick is a reliable narrator.Nick describes the novel in great detail, allowing the reader to picture what hesees and how he feels. He found the house, a weather-beaten [cardboard bungalow] at eighty a month (Fitzgerald 9). Within the first few pages, Nick easily describes what his house looks like and the living conditions that hes in. I enjoyed looking at her. She was a slender, small-breasted girl, with an erect carriage, which she accentuated by throwing her body. Her grey sun-strained eyes looked back at me [with a charming, discontented face] (Fitzgerald16). It seems that Nick is talented in describing every detail that he sees, and during this meeting between Nick, Daisy, Tom and the ever-so-charming Jordan Baker, provides a Nick an insight into the type of lives that Daisy, Tom and Jordan actually live. With this insight, the reader insinuates that Nick feels an awkw ardness in the conversation; as if Daisy, Tom and Jordan are trying very hard to keep themselves and their guest Nick, entertained that is, until dinner is served. They were here, [making only a polite pleasant effort to entertain or be entertained]. They knew that presently dinner would be over and a little later the evening too would be over and casually put away (Fitzgerald 16). The quote also indicates how Nick can pick up on small details and uses them to understand what is going on. This ability allows Nick and the reader to completely understand what is going on at all times in the novel. Fitzgerald portrays the symbols in the novel through the narrator Nick, who is able to describe things in great detail and in an unflawed, seaming less manner. Standing behind him Michaelis saw with a shock that he was looking at the eyes of Doctor T. J. Eckleburg which had just emerged pale and enormous from the dissolving night.God sees everything, repeated Wilson (Fitzgerald 152). One of the major symbols in The Great Gatsby are the eyes of Doctor T.J. Eckleburg, who is interpreted as the god or the one person that oversees everybody and everything they do. He is known as the one looking down and judging the American society and in the end of the novel; Fitzgerald shows through Nick that the eyes represent a sense of direction that youre currently in. To Tom, the eyes represent how he is successful and is living the American Dream; however, too Wilson, the eyes mock him and how he desperately needs to leave the valley of ash and move east. This is why he is always asking for Toms car which is his segue to a new and improved life. Nick also is able to determine how Gatsby failed to achieve the American Dream. Gatsbybelieved in the green light, the orgastic future that year by year recedes before us. It eluded us then, but thats no matter-tomorrow we will run faster, stretch out our arms fartherà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‚ ¦. And one fine morning (Fitzgerald171). He had come a lo ng way to this blue lawn and his dream must have seemed so close that he could hardly fail to grasp it. He did not know that it was already behind him, somewhere back in that vast obscurity beyond the city, where the dark fields of the republic rolled on under the night (Fitzgerald 171). Nick believes that Gatsby was blinded with his need to have Daisy to complete his dream. As Gatsby became closer to Daisy, he became more careless, which led to his downfall. -And it occurred to me that there was no difference between men, in intelligence or race, so profound as the difference between the sick and the well (Fitzgerald 133). Near the end of the novel, Nick realizes through the use of heat [which is another major symbol in the novel] that Tom and Wilson arent that different and both of them are going through the same things. The ability of Nick to determine symbols allows him to be a reliable and suitable narrator, but also his trustworthy appearance allows him to gather information t o keep the pace of the novel fast-paced. In addition to Nicks ability to describe things in detail, his trustworthy appearance allows Nick to be portrayed as the perfect narrator for The Great Gatsby. The fact that Tom allows Nick to see his mistress and meet her indicates that Tom trusts Nick. Not only does Tom trust Nick, but Gatsby also trusts him as well and its proven through their conversation when Gatsby confides in Nick about his love for Daisy. Gatsby also states how he actually gets his money and how he deals with the shady character; Mister Wolfshiem. Meyer Wolfshiem? No, hes a gambler. Gatsby hesitated, and then added coolly: Hes the man who fixed the Worlds Series back in 1919 (Fitzgerald 79). Though Nick is in disbelief when Gatsby tells him this; it proves that Nick is indeed, a trustworthy character and that Gatsby truly trusts Nick. Throughout the novel, Gatsby doesnt have much interaction with a variety of people and it means that Gatsby isnt very sociable; even though he throws huge, extravagant parties. T o emphasize, Gatsby only confides in Nick and this shows how close Nick and Gatsby truly were. We were close friends (Fitzgerald 179). It seems that not only Tom and Gatsby trust Nick, but Jordan does as well. I was bridesmaid. I came into her room half an hour before the bridal dinner, and found her lying on her bed as lovely as the June night in her flowered dress-and as drunk as a monkey. She had a bottle of sauterne in one hand and a letter in the other (Fitzgerald 82). Jordan is the driving factor for Nick to change throughout the novel. Her unnatural behavior is what attracts Nick to her and the fact that both Nick and Jordan are dating each other also proves that Jordan trusts Nick. Fitzgerald has rendered Nick as a trustworthy man in order to prove how unnatural and corrupted the people around him are. It seems that through Nick, the reader can see how Fitzgerald wants to portray how trustworthy Nick is, and the reader is able to see this because every major character in the novel somehow entrusts Nick with something significant. Because of this, Nick can be considered a reliable narrator. Nick faces internal and external battles throughout the book which states the obvious; Nick is not only a narrator in the novel, but also a character that is facing similar problems that the other characters are also going through. One of the major issues he faces is right at the beginning, which is something his father told him. In my younger and more vulnerable years my father gave me some advice that Ive been turning over in my mind ever since.Whenever you feel like criticizing any one, he told me, just remember that all the people in this world havent had the advantages that youve had' (Fitzgerald 7). Throughout the novel, Nick always holds back from criticising a person, which is the one thing that makes him flawed. He misinterprets the quote from his father and believes to have some higher-moral class than everyone else around him which is the reason why he is so interested of the rich. His interest in the unnatural increases as the novel progresses and it can be seen more easi ly the more Nick interacts with them. Nick undergoes an internal battle when he first sees Gatsby. He smiled understandingly-much more than understandingly. It was one of those rare smiles with a quality of eternal reassurance in it, that you may come across four or five times in life (Fitzgerald 53). During his first meeting with Gatsby, Nick was astonished by Gatsby. During the party, the guests gave Nick bad vibes about Gatsby; however, he ignores them and continues to be intrigued by him. Nick knows that Gatsby is a bootlegger and a cheat, but he still enjoys his company and because of this; the morals of Nick and his ego eat at each other until the very ending where Nick decides to stay away from Gatsby evidently, its the same day that Gatsby ends up dead. In the ending, he faces external battles with everyone he sees. Gatsbys father isnt as sad as he should be and Nick thinks that Gatsbys father fails to understand that Gatsby is truly dead and never coming back. Nick tries t o find Daisy, who, with Tom, has left to go on a vacation and finds that suspicious. His relationship with Jordan has crumbled and it seems that even Meyer Wolfshiems attitude towards Gatsbys death has angered Nick. Overall, Nick battles with his inner self and those around him, supporting the claim that Nick is a reliable narrator because he is also a character in the story itself. He feels and experiences everything that occurs and because of this, Nick is an ideal narrator. Nick Carraway is a reliable narrator because of the fact that he is trustworthy, battles with his inner self and those around him and has an ability to describe the events that take place in great detail. Nick is also somewhat biased in a way, and because of this, it doesnt make him irrational, but quite the opposite. The way Fitzgerald introduces everything and how he tells the story through the character of Nick, it emphasises the symbols, the themes and even the meaning of the story and because of this, Nick Carraway is an ideal and reliable narrator in the novel The Great Gatsby.

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain :: Adventures Huck Finn Twain Essays

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  The entire plot of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is rooted on intolerance between different social groups. Without prejudice and intolerance The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn would not have any of the antagonism or intercourse that makes the recital interesting. The prejudice and intolerance found in the book are the characteristics that make The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn great.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  The author of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is Samuel Langhorn Clemens, who is more commonly known by his pen name, Mark Twain. He was born in 1835 with the passing of Haley’s comet, and died in 1910 with the passing of Haley’s comet. Clemens often used prejudice as a building block for the plots of his stories. Clemens even said,† The very ink in which history is written is merely fluid prejudice.† There are many other instances in which Clemens uses prejudice as a foundation for the entertainment of his writings such as this quote he said about foreigners in The Innocents Abroad: â€Å"They spell it Vinci and pronounce it Vinchy; foreigners always spell better than they pronounce.† Even in the opening paragraph of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn Clemens states, â€Å"Persons attempting to find a motive in this narrative will be prosecuted; persons attempting to find a moral in it will be banished; persons attempting to find a plot in it will be shot.†   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  There were many groups that Clemens contrasted in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. The interaction of these different social groups is what makes up the main plot of the novel. For the objective of discussion they have been broken down into five main sets of antithetic parties: people with high levels of melanin and people with low levels of melanin, rednecks and scholarly, children and adults, men and women, and finally, the Sheperdson’s and the Grangerford’s.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Whites and African Americans are the main two groups contrasted in the novel. Throughout the novel Clemens portrays Caucasians as a more educated group that is higher in society compared to the African Americans portrayed in the novel. The cardinal way that Clemens portrays African Americans as obsequious is through the colloquy that he assigns them. Their dialogue is composed of nothing but broken English. One example in the novel is this excerpt from the conversation between Jim the fugitive slave, and Huckleberry about why Jim ran away, where Jim declares, â€Å"Well you see, it ‘uz dis way.

The Historical and Colonial Context of Brian Friel’s Translations Essay

The Historical and Colonial Context of Brian Friel’s Translations Regarded by many as Brian Friel’s theatrical masterpiece, Seamus Deane described Translations as â€Å"a sequence of events in history which are transformed by his writing into a parable of events in the present day† (Introduction 22). The play was first produced in Derry in 1980. It was the first production by Field Day, a cultural arts group founded by Friel and the actor Stephen Rea, and associated with Deane, Seamus Heaney and Tom Paulin. As Deane asserts, the play is in many respects an intelligent and enlightening metaphor for the situation in Northern Ireland. The aims of raising cultural awareness and dispelling socio-political apathy in the North were central to the objectives of the Field Day group. However, despite Friel’s concerns with contemporary Ireland, the play is also an enchanting fictive account of the Irish experience of British colonialism. My aim in this page is to firmly place Translations within its historical context, in order to understand the representation of colonialism in the play and to facilitate further post-colonial readings. Translations may be located both temporally and spatially to a fixed point in Irish history. The characters hail from Baile Beag, renamed with the anglicised title of Ballybeg. The action of the play occurs over a number of days towards the end of August 1833. Before delving into the play it is clear, from these most general of points, that the mise-en-scene of Translations is a period of great significance in the colonial relationship between Ireland and England. The lifetime of Hugh and Jimmy Jack, the sixty years or so running up to 1833, bore witness to many important events in the metamorphosis of Ireland from a rural Gaelic society to a modern colonial nation. To go back another seven decades, in 1704 penal laws were enacted â€Å"which decreed that a Catholic could not hold any office of state, nor stand for Parliament, vote, join the army or navy, practise at the bar nor....buy land† (Kee Ireland: A History 54). Thus, by 1778 a mere five per cent of the land of Ireland was owned by Catholics. The Irish people (most notably Catholics, though Protestants also) such as those portrayed in Translations suffered severe discrimination, poverty and hardship. The French Revolution of 1789 jolted Irish political thinking into a new fr... ... to speak English and every subject will be taught through English (396). Maire’s desire, at the opening of the play, to speak English shall soon be enforced by law throughout the National Schools in Ireland. Where Dan O’Connell and Maire both assumed the use of English would allow progress towards their respective national and personal dreams, Hugh believes that English was simply for â€Å"commerce† but that it â€Å"couldn’t really express us (the Irish)† (418). He realised that the use of Gaelic, of remaining true to their own traditions was a method of resisting colonialism, â€Å"our only method of replying to .... inevitabilities† (418). Perhaps the most ironic passage in the play appears during a conversation between Yolland and Hugh. Hugh indulges himself the smiling position of condescending to the young soldier, dismissing William Wordsworth (and by implication English Literature): Wordsworth?.... No I’m afraid we’re not familiar with your literature, Lieutenant. .... We tend to overlook your island (417). Poignantly, within a relatively short period of time the poetry of Wordsworth, and of the English canon, would be read and recited by the majority of children in Ireland.

Inner Happiness in Hemingways The Old Man and the Sea Essay

Inner Happiness in Hemingway's The Old Man and the Sea  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚        Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   Hemingway's view of human nature was that happiness was rare and was found within a man and not in his outside circumstances or surroundings.   Hemingway illustrates this in three ways.   First, he portrays the human nature of Santiago, the main character, as being one of humility and compassion, full of strength and pride.   He is shown not as a gleefully happy man, but one who meets life with a serene, quiet resilience.   Second, Santiago's fellow villagers are shown as shallow and materialistic, with a narrow view of life compared to his.   Their focus on appearances is in sharp contrast to Santiago's focus on intrinsic values.   Third, it will be shown that his rare brand of happiness comes from within.    Poignant circumstances surrounded the composition of this novel, which bring out many of the above points. It is widely recognized that Hemingway was possessed of a turbulent personality and suffered from emotional depression.   This was despite the fact that he enjoyed much critical acclaim.   The Old Man and the Sea was written after a ten-year hiatus of public and critical approval. This period saw much of his work receive negative criticism in literary and journalistic circles.   This affected Hemingway adversely and very deeply (Carey 9).   Therefore, Hemingway's personal battle with seeming failure in his life's work and society's attendant criticism parallel Santiago's stoic resolve in the face of his neighbors' disdain.   The author's struggles symbolically match those of Santiago and set the stage for the writing of this novel.    The acclaim generated by this book was due largely to the author's   " complex knotting of spiritual and phys... ... “On the spirit of obligations” and “Friendship” – how each text views friendship pointing out to the meeting points

We have before us two texts; one, â€Å"on the spirit of obligations† the other, â€Å"friendship†. Both very different in terms of structure, style and images, yet both are closely linked thematically. The notions expressed in the text are ideas of friendship (as implied by the title of one of the texts) and human relations. It is interesting to explore how each text views friendship pointing out to the meeting points. The texts are of extremely different style and structure simply because they each serve a very different purpose. The first is an essay written by William Hazlitt taken from â€Å"on the spirit of obligations†, the second is a song- â€Å"friendship† by Cole Porter. Only from this we can asses that the essay is written as continues prose and is meant to publicize some opinion. An essay usually exists to be informative, present a view and thus will be serious, explanatory and detailed. This is very different from a song that is publicly released that in order to be popular has to be catchy, short verses, short snappy ideas that will be remembered, rhymes and a wider sense of appeal. The use of language in both texts differs, with relation to their purpose and their notion of friendship. In the essay, the use of language is more sophisticated, delicate more complex, almost as the friend or person Hazlitt is describing. The language also matches the nature of the friendship- more of the intellectual- â€Å"practical benevolence is not is forte†, meaning that it wasn't a friendship on the day to day basis, or that he will offer help and favors. It sees this idea as â€Å"idle and vulgar†. This stands in such contrast to the song, almost making a mockery out of it because the language and situations described in it is at times so vulgar â€Å"if you are ever lost your teeth and you are out to dine, borrow mine†. This is part of the songs' purpose- to be humors, silly, fun. The song talks about a very different notion of friendship- one that's always there to help, almost to un-realistic measures â€Å"when other friendships have been forgot, ou rs will still be hot† The tone and register are also influenced by the purpose of the text. The account of friendship in the essay is of someone describing a very specific, special person, who is very important to him. This, although he knows it is a friendship with out obligations, and that he should not look to his friend for help, we as readers still get the notion that this friend is still very important to the writer and that he, by his own description, feels very secure and welcomed, at the presence of his friend. This is again seen in the language, where the writer carefully chooses imagery and words to describe the person in question â€Å"the husk, the shell of humanity is left at the door, and the spirit, mellowed by time, resides within!†. In the song the register is different. It seems like the singer is addressing the ‘friend' directly, telling him that he will always be there. However, there is not one single line telling us about the friend in more detail, or any clue at any de eper emotions or more complex relationship. This is because of the nature of songs. Very smartly it allows us to apply it to anyone- because of the lack of specifics it can be affiliated with any per of people, but at the same time the direct form of address allows for the feeling of personalization; it can be used between two people. In both texts the imagery used is closely linked with the notion of friendship it is describing. The essay using â€Å"his silver accents, beautiful, venerable as his silver hairs, but abundant, flows as a river† creating gentle, delicate images. From the imagery we learn that the man described is probably older, and has and air of knowledge and advice to him. â€Å"his hand is closed, but what if that? His eye is ever open†¦Ã¢â‚¬ his eye is ever open suggests that he is very observant, knows a great deal and constantly aware of the situation around him. The closed hand, however, is a powerful metaphor for the lack of obligation and physical help. This stands in such contrast to the song, where it seems that the friendship is based on constant physical being. All the imagery stands along the lines of ‘if you need a hand when in trouble just call my name†¦', everything is to do with actions not words. Further more, all imagery is vulgar, everyday colloquial language, funny unreal situations. Is this the reflection of the friendship? I believe it is merely because of the appeal it has to have to the public. Thus we get imagery like â€Å"if they ever cook your goose, turn me loose†. To conclude, I think the differences of the texts out-weigh the similarities, and that they are quite noticeable. I got the feeling that the essay is almost mocking the song and that in light of the essay it shows that the song has no real message or statement concerning friendship. It almost ridicules itself, the imagery and the rhymes flattening the notion of friendship making it something so explicit, so out of touch with reality and how friendships truly work, with all the subtleties. The song is there for the sake of entertainment alone. However, it interesting to see how in both texts the language, imagery and tone were so effected by the purpose.
